Flat Leslie in Alaska!

Flat Leslie returned home from Denali National Park in Alaska! Boy, it was sure cold there! We accidentally sent another flat person along with Flat Leslie, but they both had a great time! Check out the Denali website below:

Flat Shelby is back with some amazing news! She was at the Colorado National Monument when they unveiled a........dinosaur print! Look at this!

That's the good news, but there's some sad news too. Flat Shelby's host, Amy, made pictures of her at the unveiling, but the pictures were lost while trying to put them on the computer. Flat Shelby was already on her way home, so they couldn't make any more pictures of her. However, one picture was saved of Flat Shelby.

Another Flat person back from Turner Field!

Meagan Swindle, Public Relations Manager for the Atlanta Braves, went us the following journal and pictures from Flat Stanley's continuing adventure!

Flat Stanley: My Journey to Turner Field

I recently travelled to Atlanta, Georgia and took a tour of Turner Field, home of the Atlanta Braves.  I sat in the same dugout where my favorite Braves players sit during the games!  I saw the beautiful view of the field from the press box where journalists from all over the world watch the games and write stories about the Braves.   I also visited the TV and Radio broadcast booths.  Sometimes I listen to the Braves on the radio and hear Jim Powell and Don Sutton broadcasting the games, and so I loved visiting the “Pete Van Wieren Radio Booth” to see where the broadcasters work during home games.  Pete Van Wieren was a Braves broadcaster for more than 30 years and when he retired at the end of the 2008 season, the team named the radio booth in his honor.  He is also a member of the Braves Hall of Fame!
Next I visited the “BravesVision Control Room,” where the Braves production department works, and where the Public Address announcer sits during the games. I hope that the next time I go to a game they put me on the “BravesVision” centerfield scoreboard during the game!
I also took a tour through the Braves offices where all the marketing, public relations, community affairs, and business departments work.  I visited the offices of team President John Schuerholz and General Manager Frank Wren.
I’ve saved my favorite part of my day to tell you about last!  I visited the Braves locker room, which they actually call “the clubhouse” and I walked right by Bobby Cox’s office!!  Bobby was the team’s manager for 25 years and he just retired at the end of the 2010 season.    I also visited the locker of my favorite player, Chipper Jones!  His locker is right next to Tim Hudson’s and Brian McCann’s lockers.
I had a wonderful time visiting Atlanta to see the home of the Braves.  The next time I go to Atlanta I will definitely go back to Turner Field again.  If you ever visit Atlanta you can sit in the Braves dugout and visit the press box, broadcast booths and clubhouse just like I did!  The Braves Museum at Turner Field is open all year round, even when it’s not baseball season, and they take fans on ballpark tours every day.  If you want to plan a trip to Atlanta and tour Turner Field, the Braves have all the information on their website at: www.braves.com/museum.
